Greenville Hospital System Joins S.C. BlueChoice HealthPlan Medicaid Network

Columbia, S.C. – BlueChoice^® HealthPlan of South Carolina’s Medicaid division announces that Greenville Hospital System (GHS) has joined its network, enabling in-network coverage for BlueChoice HealthPlan Medicaid beneficiaries who seek treatment at any GHS hospital or physician’s office.

Effective Jan. 1, the agreement brings GHS into BlueChoice HealthPlan’s Medicaid network.

“We are very pleased to add GHS as we develop a premier network for our Medicaid customers,” said BlueChoice HealthPlan President Mary Mazzola Spivey. “This strong network coupled with our Customer Care Center and comprehensive health education and care management programs can help our Medicaid customers get the best health care possible.”

The Greenville Hospital System encompasses five medical campuses: Greenville Memorial Medical Campus, Greer Medical Campus, North Greenville Medical Campus, Patewood Medical Campus and Simpsonville Medical Campus. The network also includes numerous primary care and specialty care physician practices.

Headquartered in Columbia, S.C., BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BlueChoice HealthPlan has an A+ rating from A.M. Best and an Excellent accreditation status, the highest level awarded, from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

BlueChoice HealthPlan offers four categories of group health plans, as well as individual plans for children and young adults, and a South Carolina Medicaid product.
