Vision and Dental Services

BlueChoice HealthPlan Medicaid is now offering vision and dental benefits. On behalf of BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina, Vision Service Plan (VSP) will administer the expanded vision benefit and DentaQuest will administer the expanded dental benefit. Both VSP and DentaQuest are independent companies.

 

Vision Services

VSP offers routine vision benefits. You can find VSP providers on our Web site or visit VSP.com for additional information.

For members under 21 years of age, we will cover:

• One eye exam every 12 months

  For members over 21 years of age, we will cover:

• One eye exam every 12 months
• Material benefit (frames and  lenses) once every 24 months -- you are allowed up to $125.00 for lenses and frames.

If you have questions about the vision benefit, you can call VSP at 1-800-877-7195. Members with hearing or speech loss can call the VSP TTY line at 1-800-428-4833.

Dental Services

DentaQuest offers the dental benefits. You can find DentaQuest providers on this Web site or please visit DentaQuest.com for additional information.

For members over 21 years of age, we will cover: 

• Two cleanings within 12 months
• Two exams within 12 months
• Certain dental x-rays
• Minor fillings and extractions (pulling out teeth)
